Hiroko Fukui studied piano and music pedagogy at Midori Kataoka and Motonari Iguchi in Japan, graduating with distinction.

 

After studying with Lothar Broddack at the Berlin University of the Arts (now University of the Arts), she studied musicology at the Technical University of Berlin.


She completed her apprenticeship with Maria Curcio in London as well as Tatyana Nikolaev, Hans Leygraf and Georg Sava.
In 1993 and 1994 she was invited as a professor at the University of Music in Osnabrück.


Since 1995, she has mainly focused on preparing for exams and competitions. Many of its students have won international competitions (Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China, Europe).


Hiroko Fukui also gives master classes in Japan, Taiwan and China. She is also regularly invited as a member of the jury for international competitions.


As a concert performer, she performs in recitals and chamber music in Europe and Asia.         
She is currently a lecturer at the "Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach" music school and at the Hanns Eisler University of Music in Berlin.


Since 2014 she has been a visiting professor at Xiamen University in China.
