After studying at the Bordeaux CRR with JM. Londeix, F. Rossé (analysis), J. Pernoo (wind band conducting), M. Fusté-Lambezat (wind band) and F. Valonne (chamber music), JM. Goury obtains several first prizes in several national competitions, in particular those organized by Radio France. At the Aix-les-Bains competition, he played accompanied by R. Muraro and received the congratulations of the president of the jury, the legendary saxophonist Marcel Mule.
At ARIAM Ile-de-France, he studied conducting with P. Cao. At IRCAM directed at the time by P. Boulez, he perfected his skills in contemporary music with R. Piencikowski (analysis), Daniel Kientzy (saxophone), Ph. Manoury (computer music), M. Stroppa (musical linguistics).


Holder of the Certificate of Aptitude, JM. Goury currently teaches at the CRR and Pôle Supérieur (PSPBB) in Boulogne-Billancourt. Previously, he founded the saxophone classes of the CRD de la Creuse, Landes and CRC de Poissy.
Jury-coordinator of CA saxophone and tenure (city of Paris), he is also a preparer for DE and CA saxophone tests with ARIAM Île-de-France and for CNFPT competitions.
An internationally renowned pedagogue, he is involved in numerous workshops, gives master classes and associated recitals all over the world, particularly in the USA and Canada: Northwestern University, Eastman School of Music, University of Michigan , New England Conservatory of Boston, Arizona State University, University of Illinois, Bowling Green State University, Wayne State University of Detroit, University of Miami, Columbia State University, University of Florida, University of South Carolina, Susquehanna University, University of Montreal, UQAM, Victoria State University, University of Alberta in Edmonton, University of Toronto, Calgary State University, University of Saskatchewan, University of Winnipeg… but also in the higher conservatories and universities of Bangkok, Hong Kong Brasilia, Bogota, Mexico City, Caracas, Seville, Madrid, Toledo, Vigo, Pesaro, Benevento, Stockholm, Basel, Zurich, Lausanne, D etmold, Lubeck, Berlin, Vienna, Tel Aviv…
He participates in many world congresses (WSC) and directs saxophone ensembles within the framework of major projects such as La Nuit Debussy (15 creations, 35 musicians) at the Zagreb World Saxophone Congress in 2018.


As a soloist, JM. Goury is invited, mainly within the framework of creations (M. Constant, F. Rossé, D. Levaillant, C. Lauba, A. Savouret, G. Pesson…), by the Philharmonic Orchestra of Radio France, the National Orchestras of Chamber of Toulouse and Auvergne, the Bavarian Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Italian Orchestral Ensemble, Landes Instrumental Ensemble, Wind Ensembles of Edmonton, Saskatoon, Montreal and Nanterre at the Almond Theater. With the orchestra of the Paris Opera at the Palais Garnier, he participated in the creation then in 43 performances and in the recording of ballet La petite danseuse by Degas composed by Denis Levaillant and choreographed by P Bart.


In chamber music, he performs with the Xasax Quartet (saxophone quartet) and Apollinaire (music and poetry), the Duos Zéphyr (flute and saxophone) and Goury-Josset (piano and saxophone), the Ensemble Polyfolia ( painting – music happening), within the framework of prestigious festivals: Autumn Festival – Paris, Festival Présences – Radio
