Florence Millet shares her activities as a concert performer and teacher mainly between France, Germany and the USA.

 

She is a guest soloist with international orchestras under the direction of Charles Dutoit, Robert Kapilow, Pascal Verrot, Simon Blech  or Jonathan Darlington and has performed with the Tbilisi, Martfeld, Miami, Danel and Danel quartets. Camerata.

 

Founding member of the LIONS GATE TRIO for more than thirty years, she tours the United States several times a year, in residence at the State University of Hartford, HARTT School of Music since 1996, or at Yale University, Tanglewood Festival and University of North Carolina.  Their discography includes the complete Robert Schumann, by Nicolas Bacri, the trios of Ravel, Ives and Clarke, and current American composers. Cycles presenting the complete works of chamber music with piano by Fauré, Brahms, Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann have marked these last years. Their concerts also take them to Europe and China. Their festival “ Ode to Joy “  will see its fifth year in September 2018.

 

She creates, records and collaborates with composers such as George CRUMB, John ADAMS, Pierre BOULEZ, Steve REICH, Tristan MURAIL, Jennifer HIGDON, Johannes SCHÖLLHORN, Elliott CARTER, Leonard BERNSTEIN, Jörg WIDMANN, Nicolas BACRI, Philippe MANOURY, Luciano BERIO , Hans-Werner HENZE, Henri DUTILLEUX. She has performed in New York with the Contemporary Chamber Players,  in Paris and on tour with the Ensemble InterContemporain and the Ensemble Modern in Frankfort.

 

Florence Millet gives interpretation lessons in Germany, Italy, Spain, Finland and the USA. She has been a professor at the Cologne Hochschule since 1998 where she heads the piano department. She is artistic director of “ Echo aus Montepulciano ” in Tuscany, and of “ Cité des Dames93_bb-958d -136bad5cf58d_”, a series of concerts and debates within the Hochschule in Köln.

 

Winner of international competitions, she holds a doctorate in "music and performance" from the State University of New York. After brilliant first prizes and the postgraduate class at the National Conservatory of Paris, she spent two winters at the School of Fine Arts in Banff, Canada. His masters were Gabriel Tacchino, Jean Hubeau, then  Gilbert Kalish, Leon Fleisher and Paul Badura-Skoda.

 

 

About twenty CDs for the triton, Centaur, SONY/Pianovox and Accord labels include works by Schumann, Schubert, Liszt, Ravel, Pesson, Elliott Carter and are critically acclaimed. Other radio recordings with France Musique, RTBF Brussels, WDR Köln, NDR Hamburg and WQXR New York are often an opportunity to explore a score in the form of concert-readings or workshops (Hervé Derrien, Philippe Cassard, TonartWDR …) For several years, she has been exploring multidisciplinary concerts with choreographers and dancers from the Wuppertaler Tanztheater Pina Bausch, in Italy and Germany.
