A versatile and committed artist, Eric Crambes pursues multiple musical activities.

Guest solo violinist of the Royal Orchestra of Seville from 2007 to 2021, he has established a privileged relationship in Spain with the orchestras of Las Palmas, Barcelona - of which he was the main guest solo violinist for 5 years, as well as with Navarre Symphony Orchestra.

He is regularly invited as solo violinist by major European ensembles: Opera and Filarmonica de la Scala in Milan, Orchester Toscanini in Parma, Netherland Philharmonic in Amsterdam, Liceo Orchestra in Barcelona, Orchester de Tenerife, Metropolitan Orchestra in Lisbon, Opera ballet vlaanderen in Antwerp or Ghent,

In France he frequently collaborates as concertmaster with the Orchester du Capitole de Toulouse, the Orchester Philharmonique de Radio France, the Orchester National de Lille, the Orchester de chambre de Paris, the Orchester Philharmonique de Strasbourg, the National Orchestra of Lorraine, the National Orchestra of Pays de la Loire, the National Orchestra of Auvergne, the Orchestra of the Rouen Normandy Opera, the Marseille Opera…

He was able, within these prestigious orchestras, to rub shoulders with the greatest conductors: Muti, Sawallich, Gergiev, Plasson, Prêtre, Chung, Herbig, Lopez Coboz, Inbal...

A tireless traveler and instigator of improbable encounters, his solo concerts take him from Shinto temples in the remote provinces of Japan to schools in the Venezuelan forest, passing through the most beautiful halls of many metropolises. Eric Crambes performs in recital and with orchestra in France, the United States – where he made his debut at Carnegie Recital Hall in New York, throughout Europe and Asia.

Chamber music is particularly close to his heart: the festivals and concerts to which he is invited allow him to share his passion with artists such as Gérard Poulet, Akiko Suwanai, Bruno Pasquier, Henri Demarquette, Xavier Gagnepain, Christian Zacharias, Michel Dalberto, Hortense Cartier Bresson, Alexandre Tharaud, the Parisii and Psophos quartets...
He also contributes to the creation and recording of many contemporary works with the 2e2m ensemble, of which he was a member for 15 years.

Eric Crambes also has the privilege of regularly sharing the stage with the star dancers of the New York City Ballet, with the Los Angeles Dance Project company or the Ballet de Flandres, both in the United States and in Europe, in shows combining music and dance.   He has created several pieces by choreographer Benjamin Millepied.

In 2002, he created the "Opus" festival in Aubenas Vals-les-Bains, which he directed for 7 years and since 2006 has been the artistic director of the Académie-Festival des Arcs.

Eric Crambes has also taught at the Conservatoire Supérieur du Liceo in Barcelona and has been assistant professor to Alexis Galpérine since 2011 at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris.

Winner of the “Artists International” competition in New York, the Maurice Ravel prize and First Prize at the Festival des Arcs competition in 1996, Eric Crambes began playing the violin at the age of six using the Suzuki method. Thanks to a scholarship from the Fondation de France, he continued his studies in London, where he entered the Yehudi Menuhin school. His musical studies then led him to the Ecole Supérieure des Bows in Sion (Switzerland), where he worked with Tibor Varga, then to the Juilliard School in New York where he studied violin with Dorothy DeLay for five years, chamber music with the Juilliard Quartet and conducting with Allan Kay. He is for two years assistant to Dorothy DeLay for the “Pre-College Division” of the Juilliard School. At the same time, he obtained a 3rd cycle in violin and a 3rd cycle in chamber music at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Lyon and benefited from the expert advice of Gérard Poulet and Roland Daugareil. His studies were made possible by the support of the Lyon Entreprises Virtuoses association.
