CHAMOUX

CRD de Nanterre

Holder of the highest distinctions in the class of Christian Bernard at the CRR of Grenoble, Sandra Chamoux brilliantly integrates the Haute Ecole de Musique (HEM) of Geneva in the class of Harry Datyner and in 1992 obtains the First Prize for virtuosity. Winner of the Gian-Battista-Viotti and Ferrucio-Busoni International Competitions (Italy), she studied with Catherine Collard, Vlado Perlemuter and Yevgeni Malinin.

An eclectic musician, Sandra Chamoux expresses herself in a wide variety of repertoires, both as a soloist and in chamber music, in France and abroad (Europe, China, India, United States...).

She has performed under the direction of Jean-Sébastien Béreau, Patrick Souillot, Frédéric Bouaniche, Nathalie Borgel with whom, within the Symphonia Médica orchestra, she recorded Rachmaninov's Concerto n°2 in concert.

She also shares the stage with Michel Moraguès, Romain Leleu, Elsa Grether, Sergio Lamberto, Vadim Tchijik, Sonia Wieder-Atherton, Jean Ferrandis, the Athéna trio, the Liberquartet… With Florence Cioccolani, she gave the complete work by Rachmaninoff for two pianos and fourhands. Since 2015, she has played regularly with cellist Hélène Dautry, with whom a CD of Brahms sonatas was released by Lyrinx.

Contemporary creation plays an important role in her artistic development: Philippe Hersant, Jean-Claude Wolff, Sophie Lacaze… and Claire Vazart, for whom she created her Sonata for piano, a trio and a cycle of melodies, these works having been dedicated to her.

Since 2016, Sandra Chamoux has been working with baritone Emanuel Cury. Together, they created the Duo Phidylé whose recording of Duparc's Mélodies for the Calliope label was awarded a Choc Classica in September 2020.

In May 2021, still at Calliope, a double CD of the complete Ephemera by Philippe Hersant and Images by Debussy obtained 5 Classica stars, 4 Diapasons and rave reviews in France and Germany.

In 2022, she works with the DesEquilibres ensemble for the recording of the complete chamber music for strings and piano by César Franck to be released for the Klarthe label.

Piano teacher at the Nanterre CRD, Sandra Chamoux also teaches in international academies (Nancy, Greater Paris, Moulin d'Andé, etc.) and is regularly invited to give masterclasses in France, but also in Switzerland, Germany and recently in India and China.
