Born in Ukraine, Alexandre BRUSSILOVSKY did all his musical studies at the Moscow Conservatory with the Masters Yuri YANKELEVITCH, Maya GLEZAROVA and Félix ANDRIEVSKY. He won major international prizes, that of the Prague International Competition in 1969 and the Grand Prix and the Special Albert Roussel Prize of the Jacques Thibaud Competition in Paris in 1975. He nevertheless pursued his higher studies at the Moscow Conservatory in the class of Léonid Kogan until 1979.

 

After being banned from concerts abroad for many years, he left the USSR and settled in France in 1985. There he recreated his career, dividing his activity between concert halls and teaching, while realizing his dream of creating his own ensemble, the ENSEMBLE RICERCATA DE PARIS.

 

In addition to his activities as an international soloist, Alexandre BRUSSILOVSKY is invited by the Yehudi Menuhin School (England), the Bloomington School of Music (Indiana University) and the Longy School of Music (Boston) to give master classes. He participates in several summer academies including Geneva, Arcs, Nice, New York and Prades (Festival Pablo Casals). Since October 2000 he has been invited by the chamber orchestra DEL ARTE (Neuburg, Germany) as its principal conductor.

 

Alexandre Brussilovsky plays in the most prestigious venues (Carnegie Hall in New York, Salle Pleyel and Théâtre des Champs Elysées in Paris, Bolshoi zal at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, South Bank Center in London, etc.) with great artists such as Lord Yehudi Menuhin , Emmanel Krivine, Misha Maisky, Gary Hoffman, Edward Brunner, Kun Wo Paik, Neeme Jarvi, Françoise Pollet, Natalia Guttman, Boris Berezovsky, the Lindsays et  Fine Arts Quartet… In addition to his career as an international soloist , he was invited by the Bloomington School of Music (Indiana University) and the Longy School of Music in Boston to give master classes.

 

He also participates in numerous summer academies, including Geneva, Nice, Les Arcs, Prades and New York… Alexandre Brussilovsky is, moreover, Artistic Director of the French and Russian Music Festival Pont Alexandre III in Moscow and Saint- Petersburg (Russia), Hamburg (Germany), Lviv (Ukraine) and Paris. He is the founder of the Yuri Yankelevitch International Competition in Omsk, Russia. Alexandre BRUSSILOVSKY is also Artistic Director of the Suoni e Colori label.
