Born in 1982 in Milan, Italy, Güray Basol began playing the piano at the age of 15, in his high school in Istanbul, then joined the École Normale de Musique de Paris in Germaine Mounier's class in 2004. He also had the opportunity to study chamber music with Michel Moraguès at the CRR in Rueil-Malmaison and piano with Gerlinde Otto at the Trossingen Academy in Germany and Yuri Serov at the Colombes Academy. And he was fortunate to receive advice from great pianists such as Idil Biret, Pascal Godart and Verda Erman. He obtained a master's degree in musicology from the University of Paris IV-Sorbonne in 2012. His two dissertations focused on the Piano Sonata by Jean Françaix and the Harpsichord Suites from the years 1687-1705 in France.

Bronze medalist at the Claude Kahn National Competition in Paris and finalist at the 1st International Piano Competition Orchestra'Sion in Istanbul, he has given concerts since 2008: in Paris, notably at the Army Museum, the Henrich Heine House, the Richelieu Amphitheatre of the Sorbonne and the Czech Cultural Center; in Rochefort and Oléron for the Pierre Loti Festival, at the Sylvanès Festival and in Bourges at the Théâtre Saint-Bonnet; at the Sala dos Espelhos in Lisbon, in London at the churches of St James in Piccadilly and St Martin-in-the-Fields, at Milano Centrale railway station, in Madrid at the Festival of the Fundación Olivar de Castillejo, in Ankara in the great hall of the Presidential Symphony Orchestra, in Istanbul at the Opera of Süreyya and the Grand Pera, at the Music School of Bad Nauheim near Frankfurt, at the Château de Belfaux in Switzerland, at the International Cultural Center of Hammamet in Tunisia, as well as in Belgrade, at the National Library and the Cultural Center. In July 2023, he is the soloist of the Concerto in F minor by JS Bach with the Mugla Orchestra (Turkey) conducted by Münif Akalin at the 4th Idil Biret Festival.

Güray Basol released his first album L'Orient-Express on Anima Records in 2018 and a second album on Lila Müzik in 2024, Two Turkish Women Composers of the 20th Century, which received 5 stars in Classica magazine: "A performance of ideal clarity, sensitivity and conviction."

He also teaches piano and musical training in several schools in the Paris region and gives courses in France and Turkey.
